Coronation

The Coronation will be held at the Spencer Middle School unless increment weather, then it will be at the Roane County High School.


Entertainment by Adam Tucker

The Queen of the 53rd annual WV Black Walnut Festival™ will be crowned during the coronation ceremony on Thursday, October 11th at 7pm at the Roane County High School Stadium. The 53rd West Virginia Black Walnut Festival™ queen, Katie Murray of Ripley, was selected from several entrants in the Queen’s Pageant and will be crowned during the Coronation Ceremony. Emily Shimp of Leroy was selected as Miss Roane County and Cassandra Richards of Spencer will reign as Junior Miss Roane County.

The Festival Queen received a $1,000 scholarship and another $1,000 in scholarships and prize money was awarded to runners-up and winners of the awards. Miss Roane County received a $300 award and Junior Miss Roane County received a $100 U.S. Savings Bond.

The  Coronation Ceremony entertainment will be provided by the talented Adam Tucker. Since our 49th Black Walnut Festival™ when he sang his first song to the Festival audience he has been a crowd pleaser and the  public demands his appearance each year. Adam and his band, Custom Built will provide us with an unforgettable evening of fast, wonderful country music. Coronation Ceremony tickets will be on sale at the Spencer Municipal Building.
