The 52nd Black Walnut Festival™ car show was a great success with 167 cars, trucks, and motorcycles included.
Rodney Roberts of Mt. Zion won the Queen’s Choice Trophy presented by festival queen Kayla Boggs. Mearl Halcomb of Clover won the Mayor’s Choice Trophy presented by Spencer Mayor Terry Williams. The Linda S. Webb Memorial Trophy went to Tom holiday of Spencer for his 70 - ½ Camaro. Doug Carpenter of Parkersburg and his 1954 Chevrolet pickup won the Jr. McMillan Trophy. The Club’s Choice Trophy was awarded to Charles Higgins and Marie Plantz, both of Charleston, for their 1940 Ford pickup.
The Classic Steel Car Club will sponsor the 2007 Car Show again this year and it will be held on Sunday October 14th in the Wal-Mart parking lot. Registration is from 10 - 12noon. The fee is $10.00. The Car Show is from 12:noon to 4pm.
