WV Black Walnut Festival™ Royalty & Pageant Process
The WV Black Walnut Festival pageant is an integral part of the entire season. Usually held in May, the queen is selected from a variety of applicants using a standard competition. Once crowned, the queen presides over many of the season's events and becomes a central figurehead for the parade and official ceremonies.
The application window for the 2008 competition is now closed; however the 2008 application and instructions are provided by links as Adobe documents for reference.

The Festival Queen for 2007 is Katie Murray . She received a $1000 scholarship and another $1000 in scholarships and prize money was awarded to runners-up and winners of the awards.
Miss Roane County received a $300 award and Junior Miss Roane County received a $100 U.S. savings bond.
