The 53rd Black Walnut Festival™ Crafts will be displayed in the National Guard Armory. There will be a wide variety of West Virginia hand-made crafts including dulcimers, wooden folk art, jewelry, clothing, crocheted items, dried flowers, and potpourri.
Art Exhibit Guidelines
The annual WV Black Walnut Festival Art Show will take place at the National Guard Armory October 11th through 14th.
Entries should be brought to the armory on Monday, October 8th, noon to 4pm and Tuesday, October 9th, 9am to 4pm.
Entries are limited to two total entries per person. Entries must have the artist’s name, address, phone number, section and medium written on the back.
The categories are as follows:
Sections
1-Adult, 2-High School, 3-Middle School 5-8, 4-Elementary K-4.
Mediums
A – Painting (oil, acrylic, watercolor, tempera and/or combination of all):
B-Drawing (pencil, ink, pastels, charcoal, crayon, colored pencil and/or combination of all)
Collage and digital art have dropped from the mediums to clarify the mediums and judging of the art exhibit.
All student work must be submitted through their school’s art teacher and will be limited to two total entries per person. As a result of space constraints, the art exhibit may be juried should there be a large number of entries.
Judging will take place Wednesday October 10th, with ribbons awarded to winning entries. Artwork must remain on display from Thursday, October 11th through October 14th at 4 p.m.

The craft show will be at the Armory with Thursday, Friday, Saturday 9-8pm and Sunday 10am- 4pm.
Black Walnut Festival™ Flower Show
There were 75 entries in the 2006 Flower Show. The Flower Show is sponsored by the Hill and Hollow Garden Club. The flowers will be on display in the Heritage Park Community Building.
Best of Show honors were awarded to Dr. Pedro Ambrosio during the 2006 annual WV Black Walnut Festival™ Flower Show. Lo won for dahlia, formal decorative exhibit.
The Photography Show
The 2007 Black Walnut Festival™ Art show will be held in the National Guard Armory. Chairman Mark Richards will be accepting art entries in the Armory on the Thursday and Friday prior to the Festival, which is October 4th & 5th from 12:00 to 4:00pm.
Winner in the photography show during the 52nd annual WV Black Walnut Festival™ included:
